It was wonderful for my husband and me to go to Lienz in East Tyrol and stay in the Hotel Sonne. The staff did their utmost to make our stay enjoyable. There were plenty of maps and brochures available and excellent tips on where to dine and where to hike in the spectacular mountains and valleys that surround Lienz. All the staff were multilingual and their English was perfect. Our room on the 4th floor was modern and bright with a spotlessly clean bathroom. It was a large room with loads of space for our luggage. The view of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking.
The hotel itself has an excellent restaurant with an extensive choice of dishes, and we had quite a few fantastic evening meals.
We had hired a car for our stay and were glad that our hotel had an underground garage with easy access to the hotel itself. We had no trouble getting our luggage up to our room.
It’s a hotel that provides a good starting point for excursions to the Dolomites and for exploring the southern regions of Austria.
We would certainly recommend it to our friends.
